You knew those two were together you

were folding laundry at M’s you were

doing nothing important you were doing

and thinking nothing important when you imagined those two and

their words as catastrophic underground echoes their

bodies occupying the same place you cannot explain it your body

in a far off place existing removed in

a very separate space you were folding laundry when you experienced a vision the vision

came rapidly through you it came to you from nowhere you thought to

tell someone you found a phone and picked it up but didn’t use it you couldn’t tell

anyone because anyone

in their right mind would wonder if in

fact you were unable anymore to discern the facts

from magic or an active imagination from

some false sense of acquaintance or some

happenstance you recall it was a Sunday you were at M’s house nothing was happening

and it was summer where you were but you felt a chill and

knew the two of them were together somewhere those two whom you once knew
